Georgette Gray’s latest student-teacher romance is a real page turner: there’s not only the illicit intrigue between Violet and Mr Brennan to enjoy, but also a plot with heaps of twists and turns and danger.
The build up to their forbidden romance is realistic and steady – he’s holding back for obvious reasons – so when he finally gives way the results are pretty explosive. The emotional dimension is also well developed, as the story progresses it’s clearly deepening into something more than mere physical attraction for both of them.
There’s also that wonderful student-teacher frisson: “When you think about me, do you call me Oscar or Mr Brennan?”
Fans of student-teacher romances will find much to delight them here.
